Repair service for Toshiba 46RV535U power supply board - sound, but no image or failing to power on

If your Toshiba 46RV535U is completely dead or if it powers on and then off chances are this is the service it needs to get working again.
$79.95

Coppell TV Repair offers a REPAIR SERVICE for the power supply board shown in the picture and found in Toshiba 46RV535U LCD TV.

REPAIR SERVICE means that you have to send in a malfunctioning board which we will diagnose, service, test and return back to you.

The board in your TV may have a different label than the one on this picture, but it is going to look like it - same number of connectors at same places. There are simply several different models of power supplies that Toshiba uses interchangeably .

It does not matter which is the exact version in your model, we can service all of them.

Failure symptoms

There are several different failures and faiure symptoms we've seen in those boards.

  • A totally dead TV may be result of a blown main fuse F801B (next to AC input connector).
If that fuse is blown the TV would be totally dead, but the reason for the blown fuse may not necessarily be on this board.

You may want to send it for repair along with the smaller power board sitting on its left side.

If both boards need to be repaired there may be surcharge of $20-$30 - we'll contact you before we do both for approval.

  • TV starting up normally, but with nothing on the display; when configured on proper input the TV may even produce sound yet still nothing on the display.

This is a good indicator of a bad power supply. If you find the fuse F820 (top right, next to the TOSHIBA label) open then you know for sure the board is bad.

Otherwise it may still be bad, just elsewhere.

Do not replace the fuse - that alone will not help. We have a DIY repair kit for this situation - look it up and see if you want to try and do it yourself.

  • If the TV clicks on and then back off it may be a problem on this board.
Alas, no easy way to tell - we'll need to test it to know for sure.

Those are sure not the only failure symptoms for a malfunctioning power supply, but are the most common ones that we've seen. Short of finding an open fuse you can't be 100% certain the symtom is caused by that board.
There is always a risk, even if minimal, that it could be somewhere else, e.g. the main board.

Processing time
Typical turnaround time is 2 business days. It is not guaranteed, though, as we can't control the volume of boards that arrive on a given day or the damage on the board.

Sometimes the damage extends beyond the common failures that this service covers for a fixed price. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to know that upfront. We try to repair everything that comes our way - this is our business - but when we break even on a board we will contact you and tell you that it is not worth repairing. In those rare cases we will return the board restored in to the best of our abilities to its original state, issue refund and ask you to cancel the sale on eBay.

It is not a nice experience for either side, but it is part of the business and it is best that we both know it upfront.

Service requirements

The board we receive must be physically intact and must have not been tampered with or serviced before.

If either of the two conditions is failed we reserve the right to reject service and return the board back to you at your expense.

If we take the board for service and fail to fix it within reasonable time (2 business days unless you allow us more) we will issue you refund and send it at our expense.

If a board arrives working you will only be liable for the return shipping costs, a fixed $20 diagnostic fee and whatever transaction fees eBay and PayPal incur on the transaction. You will receive back the rest.
